Japanese Noted Foods  Ishikari Pickles
 Report

The "Ishikari Pickles" is Pickles representing Hokkaido on a par with "Matsumae Pickles". "Ishikari" One-pot Dishes is the soup using sake lees, Chinese cabbage, and a salmon. It is "Ishikari Pickles" which was made Pickles with the same material as this. Although "Ishikari Pickles" of home cooking mixed material in a jumble, as for "Ishikari Pickles" currently sold at the supermarket etc., a carrot etc. overlaps with a salmon, Chinese cabbage, and sea tangle finely at many layers.

Therefore, probably, "Ishikari Pickles" is considered for the form currently sold at the supermarket to be general "Ishikari Pickles".

If it sees, a sockeye, black sea tangle, and a carrot are inserted into Chinese cabbage, and it is very beautiful. When Chinese cabbage is eaten, it is a taste different from Chinese cabbage preserved in salt. When a salmon is eaten, there is no sense of incongruity as Pickles. This is nice. It eats, and if it progresses, various flavors which other seasonings make with sea tangle and a salmon will be felt, and will not get bored. This is interesting. The relish of alcohol is suited.

Preservation will not be so much effective, since it is lightly-pickled vegetables in kind. Well, if it opens, it will be lost on that day.

Although Ishikawa has "Kabura-zushi" using a turnip and a yellowtail, the combination of this Chinese cabbage and a salmon is also rather interesting.
