Japanese Noted Foods   Citrus Aurantium
 Report

The Citrus aurantium (: Hyuga-natsu) is the native fruit of the Miyazaki prefecture. In Kochi, it is called "Konatsu" and called in the name of the new summer orange in Miyazaki or Ehime. A leaf is a trademark. The leaf is not necessarily attached by chance.

Although it is wonderful, there is hardly a scent. A color is lemon and is a size like a pear. The form also resembles the pear. Is really it ripe? Inside is pure white when the thick skin is stripped off by hand. The skin comes out that it is unexpected lightly, and is soft. Flesh is also whitish and is touch of a grapefruit. When the skin of an inner fruit is stripped off and eaten, it is very decent flavor. The grapefruit is resembled too.

The "Natsu-Mikan" of which it is reminded from a name is the fruit which is completely different. It is the touch which does not suit a poor man like me. There is not necessarily much sweetness and it is not sour. If it eats, it will disappear and go to the direction in the inner part of a throat smoothly.

Although got to know later, it seems to be good to eat the inner portion and inner fruit of the white skin together.
