The Sandfish is a fish with few opportunities for those who live in the Tohoku district to also eat very much. It is a popular fish and was caught in large numbers a long time ago. The Sandfish inhabits the Sea of Japan coast from Hokkaido. It comes to the Oga peninsula coast from November to December for laying eggs especially. Sandfish at that time is said to be nice. Sandfish is a fish which acts at night and there is no scale. Since it dives into sand, it is referred to as Sandfish.



The Sandfish is closed from vinegar, koji is sprinkled and seaweed etc. is contained. A little those who do not want to eat are good to eat, after grilling as it is. When it puts into a mouth, it is a peculiar taste which drifts and cannot say the scent of vinegar not at all. It is nice. If winter comes every year, it is eating, but it is a seasonal taste which cannot stop.

The sushi which uses Sandfish is what took the head and internal organs of Sandfish, and is attached from the body to the tail. When it ate, the bone was able to be regarded as there being nothing, but when seen, the bone was also attached perfectly.
